**Disclaimer**

How do we screen our Assistance Applicants?

Each applicant's IP address is recorded for validation purposes and will be used along with other information to ensure that the Angels Program is utilized by those with a real need and that the system is not abused. We also personally call the applicant to validate their information. Their listing will NOT appear in the public listing until it has been personally verified by our staff. If the phone number isn't good, or we can't get in touch with them, or we have a reason to believe they are trying to abuse this system, they will not be approved for the listing.
 

 

What is the suggested amount for a family adoption fulfillment?

We suggest around $25 per child.
 

Can I adopt half of a family?

Sorry, the Angels program does not support partial family adoptions.  If you cannot afford to adopt an entire family, we suggest that you either find a friend to go in with you on the adoption or select a family with fewer children.
 

What is the deadline for applying or adopting?

The Angel Assistance Program will be closing the application process for new families on Dec. 15.

The deadline for adopting a family is Dec. 20.

Angels wanting to provide for families should do so as soon as possible. The Angel Assistance Program site will remain up throughout the holidays and new year, but the ability to adopt families will be stopping on Dec. 20.

How do I adopt a family?

The short answer:

View Applicants, "Adopt This Family", fill out the form and submit.

The long answer:

1. Go to the Applicant List page
2. Review the Family Profile pages on each Applicant to select which one you would like to adopt.  Some families only wish to receive Overstock Gift Cards to be mailed to their homes.  They have the option of remaining keeping their address information private, (only SR staff will have this data) which is suggested to avoid giving out personal information over the internet.  Others don't mind if their information is public and will provide their addresses and accept any type of assistance.
3. Click on the "Adopt This Family" link on either the Applicant List page or on the individual Family Profile page.
4. Fill out the simple form you are presented with, clicking on "I Agree" when presented with the Disclaimer page, and you will be emailed information for your adoptee, depending on the privacy option that was selected at the time application for assistance was submitted.
5. After you have provided gifts for your family, be sure to let us know by filling out the form on the Fulfillment Page.
